Welcome to the official web site of Cuauhtli Diaries. Here you can find a large assortment of hand crafted personal diaries, designed and constructed by the Artist Federico Salas. These little blank diaries are handmade from natural fibers in the tradition of the Mayan Indians of southern Mexico. We use carnation, pansies, asparagus, corn silk, sugar cane, banana fronds, fig bark, bamboo, bougainvillea, mesquite, coffee and cotton.

Cuauhtli. Aquí usted puede encontrar un gran surtido de mano de diarios
personales, diseñado y construido por el artista Federico Salas. Estos pequeños son
diarios en blanco a mano de fibras naturales en la tradición de los Indios Mayas del
sur de Mexico. Usamos clavel, pensamientos, espárragos, maíz seda, caña de azúcar,
plátano frondas, fig corteza, bambú, buganvillas, mezquite, el café y algodón.
Federico laboriously runs the process of creating the papel amate, binds the covers and pages, then adding his unique art to finished result. Please feel free to browse our Diaries 1, Diaries 2 and Diaries 3 pages, where you'll certainly find the perfect diary for that special someone! Remember, Federico will sign every diary that you order, so remember when checking out, to specify to "whom" you wish your diaries signed. Festivals & Shows Rico will be exhibiting at the New Orleans Po-Boy Preservation
Festival The 2009 New Orleans Po-Boy Preservation Festival will be held 11am to 6pm, Sun Nov 22 on the newly renovated Oak Street between Carrollton and Eagle. Ride the St. Charles street car to the Fest. Stop #46. Rico will be at the Baton Rouge Art Market on Saturday, November 7th, 2009 from 8 am to 12 noon.
